The Metropolitan Bishop of Lodz, has PhD with habilitation in humanities, is passionate about the history of the Church and attentive reading of the Holy Bible. He admits himself that his every day is different but has one thing in common: minimum one hour of lonely communing with the word of God. As a preacher he is consistently and systematically seduced by the charm of the Scriptures while explaining its intricacies to the believers coming to mass and to Internet users who have been faithfully following his teaching in the virtual world.

His interpretation of the Word was noticed by linguists from the Polish Academy of Sciences who granted him the title of the Ambassador of Spoken Polish, thus placing him next to, among others, Olga Tokarczuk, winner of the Noble Prize for Literature.

An experienced pilgrim who has been wearing paths from Lodz and its surroundings to Jasna Góra. Previously he was known for playing the guitar while walking or resting, but now he uses these skills in a more reasonable way.

However his passion for skiing is not so reasonable. Last season the Archbishop had a collision while skiing and later had to convalesce his hand for a long time. Moreover he is threatening that he is ready to challenge the same slope this year. Maybe someone will manage to put it out of his head.

He has been passionately involved in evangelization as well as in ecumenical and charity activities. He came to Lodz two years ago and he is saying wholeheartedly that he loves this Church. He did not move the capital from Cracow to Lodz but thanks to him Cracow is much more often visiting Lodz. He managed to move the seminary for mature seminarists and brought the Redemptoris Mater seminary that is teaching priests for Neocatechumenate.

He has recently written a letter to the youth “The Tenth Hour” in which he is encouraging them to ask questions. One can only imagine how much time it will take him to give answers. You can check the results at www.Godzina10.pl.
