Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz Theatre was established in Zakopane in February 1985 thanks to the actors and students of Kraków PWST, who were united in their artistic independence, wanted to search for some ways of creating the theatre and were against uni-dimensionality of the institutions of culture back in the day.
“Trans(fuzja)” was created on the basis of the drama “Creditors” by August Strindberg — Swedish writer, painter, photographer and one of the fathers of modern theatre, and the pioneer of expressionism. Multi-dimensional, full of emotions text provides theatre space for a very personal journey inside human souls, into the world of the deepest feelings and artistic dilemmas.

He — a young, multi-talented artist, reminding of Strindberg himself (and Witkacy as well). She — a woman, his wife. And the third one, the wife’s ex-lover, left by her for the creator.

On the chamber stage it is the possessive live that dominates, passionate and obsessive not real but transformed by revenge and envy, leading towards suffering and death. The spectacle was acclaimed by the critics another masterpiece by the director, Andrzej St. Dziuk, who also prepared stage decorations and music for Trans(fuzja). Three actors are excellent in their roles played among exceptionally well-chosen props — easels, canvas, a lamp with a massive lamp shade, some mattress thrown on the floor. It is minimalism and growing tension.

The premiere took place on January 8th, 2016 at the Art Gallery of Włodzimierz and Jerzy Kulczycki in Zakopane.
The spectacle is for audience 16+.
